Sensitive Skin Care

Here are a few tips for sensitive skin care:

• Use sensitive skin care products. These products are specifically targeted to sensitive skin so you will not worry about any harsh ingredients. Also, check the instructions on the product to see if there are specific restrictions associated with the product.

• Cleanse your face and neck 2 – 3 times a day especially when you spend most of the time outdoors. Use cleansers for sensitive skin like those soap-free one.

• Use hypoallergenic moisturizer products.

• Avoid using toners. Most of toners are alcohol based and proven to be harmful for sensitive skin with continued use.

• Wear protective gloves when doing laundry or other chemical based cleaning. If you are allergic to rubber, you can wear cotton gloves below the rubber ones.

• Always apply sunscreen lotion before going out of your house.

• Anticipate allergens like dust and other pollutants once you get out of the house. Cover yourself up by wearing adequate clothing.

• Use soft foams or scrubs which will not cause reddishness or inflammation on your skin when there’s too much friction.

• Remove make up as quickly as possible. Use hypoallergenic makeup- removers.

So, sensitive skin care is very different from the normal skin care. Sensitive skin care is more about being careful with your skin (both in terms of sensitive skin care products and protection against environments atrocities on skin).

Skin Care Creams vs Lotions

You have probably noticed the increasing number of lotions and skin care creams in the market. Demands keep on rising which prompts manufacturers to supply more variations of lotions and skin care for just about any ailment or need so to speak. So which form is better?

Well, there is no definitive answer to this. It is a matter of personal choice. Skin care are much easier to apply especially if the product is not to be removed immediately after application. This includes moisturizers which is why its form is almost always a cream. Since moisturizers helps dry skin, skin care creams are often thought to be used for dry or sensitive skin. Toners are more popular in lotion form but generally, it is available in liquid form. For cleansing, lotions and skin care creams are both popular.

Skin care creams are also very common to eye products and anti-ageing creams. Many skin disorders are also treated with skin care creams since only a small amount is needed to be applied over the affected area. For cases which the skin needs to be washed with medicine, a lotion form product is a better choice.

Choosing a lotion or skin care cream is not really a big cause of concern, rather, the question lies on the purpose you intend to use it for. Knowing how to use a lotion or a skin care cream effectively should be the first and foremost concern of anyone.

• Never sleep with your make-up on. This is a big no no! Doing so will invite all kinds of skin breakouts and skin problems because letting make-up and dirt stay on your face long enough brings with it bacteria and infection. Always remove your make-up before going to sleep.

• Use proper make-up remover since this guarantees all of your make-up are wiped out clean. Water is not enough to remove make-up.

• Test a facial skin product on a small patch on your skin to determine if you are not allergic to its contents.

What's Your Facial Skin Care Regimen?

Women know the importance of facial skin care. The health of your skin depends on how much care and attention you put into it. Having a facial skin care regimen is a matter of commitment and it is always followed strictly.

A facial skin care routine begins with cleaning to remove whatever dust or oil that has accumulated on your skin. Use facial foam cleansers and facial creams to help remove the pollutants on your skin. Remember to do an upward stroke or circular strokes when applying these products. It stimulates the skin at the same time, this will prevent premature wrinkles from developing. Cleansing before applying make up and before going to bed is recommended.

Another facial skin care regimen is exfoliating which is usually done once or twice a week. This procedure helps remove dead skin cells which clog the pores resulting from pimples, blackheads, whiteheads or acne. To moisturize is probably the most important part of a facial skin care regimen. A dry skin tends to break and promotes infection or bacteria from getting into the skin. This often results to skin acne or pimples. Use mild and fragrant free moisturizers to avoid the harsh ingredients that come with those with strong scents.
